ASUME

AI Interface

Overview

The AI Interface is how people, applications, and agents interact with the company understanding ASUME maintains.

Today, ASUME is accessed through the ASUME application. Over time, the same maintained understanding can become available through additional interfaces without requiring the company to be understood again for each one.

Understanding follows you

ASUME is designed so that company understanding does not belong to one chat, page, or application.

At a simplified level:

Company information → Maintained understanding → Interface → Use

The interface can change while the underlying understanding remains the same. A company may be explored in the ASUME application, used through Companion, accessed programmatically, or made available to an authorised agent.

The interface changes. The underlying understanding does not.

Interfaces

InterfaceStatusPurpose
ApplicationAvailableExplore companies, inspect understanding, use objectives, and Ask ASUME.
CompanionPlannedBring relevant understanding into supported environments where work already happens.
SlackPlannedInteract with ASUME from Slack using the understanding available to the workspace.
Microsoft TeamsPlannedInteract with ASUME from Microsoft Teams using the same maintained understanding.
APIPlannedUse supported ASUME capabilities and outputs programmatically.
MCPPlannedMake supported ASUME capabilities available to compatible agents and AI systems.

Availability can differ by plan and workspace as additional interfaces are introduced.

Interfaces and sources

An interface determines where ASUME is used. A source determines which information ASUME is allowed to use.

The same environment may eventually serve both roles, but they remain separate. Connecting an interface does not automatically give ASUME permission to use the information stored there, and connecting a source does not automatically make ASUME available as an interface within it.
