Understanding
Overview
ASUME is built around a simple idea: having information about a company is not the same as understanding it.
A company can be observed through its website, products, documentation, hiring, announcements, customer material, internal records, and other information available to ASUME. These sources can tell us a great deal about what the company has done or stated. But many of the properties that matter for decisions, such as its needs, priorities, constraints, capabilities, and direction, are not always directly stated.
ASUME uses the Assumptive Understanding Model (AUM) to turn available company information into a structured and maintained understanding of what that information currently supports.
