Training
Training uses a company's maintained understanding to prepare people for a specific account, conversation, or motion.
Training draws on the same evidence, assumptions, and beliefs as the rest of ASUME, so preparation stays grounded rather than generic.
Overview
Training is part of the Revenue objective.
It uses what ASUME understands about a company to prepare a person for a specific account, conversation, or motion.
Rather than producing generic advice, Training grounds preparation in the maintained understanding of the particular organization involved.
Training operates on maintained understanding
Training reasons from a company's maintained understanding rather than from source material assembled for the occasion.
This means preparation reflects what the evidence currently supports about the organization, including beliefs established earlier and still maintained.
It also keeps training consistent with the rest of the work on the company, because it operates on the same representation.
What Training prepares
Training applies company understanding to a specific situation. It can help a person understand:
- what the company appears to need, prioritize, or be constrained by;
- which capabilities and conditions are relevant to the conversation;
- what is well supported and what remains uncertain;
- which assumptions the current understanding depends on;
- and what would strengthen or change the picture.
The aim is to prepare someone to reason about the company, not to memorize a script.
Training is grounded in evidence and assumptions
What Training presents is connected to its evidence and to the assumptions the reasoning depends on.
This matters because preparation that hides its basis can encourage confidence that the evidence does not support.
By keeping evidence and assumptions visible, Training helps a person distinguish what is established from what is inferred before they act on it.
Training is traceable
Preparation produced by Training preserves its basis through traceability.
A point raised in preparation can be followed back to the beliefs, assumptions, and evidence responsible for it.
This lets a person check why a point matters for a particular company rather than taking it at face value.
Training and uncertainty
Training does not present an over-confident picture of a company.
Where the evidence is thin, where a conclusion depends on an assumption, or where competing explanations remain, preparation can make that uncertainty explicit.
Knowing where the understanding is uncertain is often as useful for a conversation as knowing where it is strong.
Training stays current
Because Training operates on maintained understanding, it reflects revision.
As new evidence changes what ASUME understands about a company, preparation for that company changes with it.
Preparation therefore reflects the current state of the organization rather than a snapshot taken when it was first produced.
Training and the revenue objective
Training is conditioned on the Revenue objective.
It operates on the same company understanding as other revenue results, so preparation, matches, and call review stay consistent with one another.
An insight that revises the company through one of these results is reflected in the others rather than kept separate.
